Myrtle Phylis (Billick) Bunes
February 10th, 1921 - November 16th, 2009
Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Myrtle quietly went to sleep Monday, November 16th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital, Comox after suffering a heart attack on Thursday the 12th of November. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband Steve Billick, her father Herman Benjamin Lubie, her mother Winfred Lubie, and her sister Irene. Myrtle was survived by her only remaining sister Dora, other family and friends and her beloved cats Ziggy and Phoebie. Myrtle had many hobbies during her lifetime. She loved birds, raising poodles, doing crafts, sewing, knitting, going fishing and much more. She always had one or two dogs or cats around her. In her later years she loved reading, gardening and learning computer skills. She was presently enrolled in a computer course at North Island College.
Memorial Service will take place at the Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church, 2963 Lake Trail Rd. on Monday, November 30th at 1:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. As she requested, Myrtle's wish to be cremated and laid to rest alongside her father and husband in Prince George will be honored in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to our local SPCA in memory of Myrtle. May she rest in Peace.
