Nadine (Deannie) passed away peacefully at home, comforted by her loving husband Orlyn, family, friends and her two dogs Duke and Rowdy.
On December 23rd, Nadine left us behind to join her father Cecil Minary; her riding buddies Areeb, Banks, Fantasia, Edelman, and Whoopie, and her many other beloved pets.
She is survived by Orlyn (husband of 29 years); mother Helen Woods (known to most as Betty) sisters Gayle (Gary) and Mona (Karl); sister in-laws, Diane (Lee), Marilyn (Bob); stepson, Wayne (Karen); step-grandchildren Amanda and Sarah; numerous nieces and nephews and extended families, friends too numerous to list, and of course Duke and Rowdy.
Nadine was born in Comox and grew up in Cumberland where she began pursuing her passion for horses. The barn quickly became her second home. Guided and supported by Doc and Marg Montgomery, Nadine was soon becoming an accomplished equestrian rider. Competing in local and national events, earned her recognition and respect throughout Canada and the riding world. She moved to Alberta where she worked and trained with Bonnie Bonello, an Olympic rider.
For Nadine, her family, friends, horses, dogs and Orlyn were her life and soul purpose for being. Although she was an accomplished horse woman, rider, mentor and teacher and an amazing artist, Nadine sought to live her life uncomplicated and chose to stay close to home with Orlyn and her animals.
Nadine will be sadly missed by all who loved her but there is comfort in knowing that she will be riding the heaven's trails with her old buddies.
When we hear thunder, we will know you are riding past ...... until we meet again, happy trails.

At Deannie's request, a good old fashioned barbeque, campfire celebration, fun, laughs and of course Orlyn's famous seafood salad can be enjoyed by all family and friends on May 19th, 2018 at their Davis Road homestead.
