Noel Edward (Ted) Cowan

May 29, 2010

COWAN, Ted

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Noel Edward (Ted) Cowan, who died peacefully at St. Joseph’s General Hospital, Comox, B.C., on May 29, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Calgary, Alberta on Christmas Eve, 1932, Ted will always be remembered with love by his wife of fifty-three years, Elizabeth; his children, Douglas (Joie), Catherine (Jim) Ainsley, and Bruce (Mel); his grandchildren, Dennis, Nicole, Cory, Paul, and Leith; as well as by his many friends and colleagues. He was predeceased recently by his daughter, Beverley and by his brother, Laurie.

An active bridge player in the Comox Valley and a proud member of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, Ted loved a good kibbitz and a family get-together.

In this time of loss, the family extends their heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s, who took such wonderful care of Ted in his final days. At Ted’s request, there will be no service and in lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy friends may wish to make a donation to a charity of their choice.
