The family is deeply saddened to announce Noel's unexpected but peaceful passing on January 13, 2020, at North Island Hospital, Comox Valley, with family by his side.
Noel was born to Joseph and Elizabeth Reddy, in Ballinagore, Ireland, and lived there until he immigrated to Canada in 1969. Until retirement in 2014, Noel was a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the Oil & Gas Industry in Fort McMurray Alberta, and in the Forest Industry in Port Eliza, BC. He took great pride in always doing an excellent job.
He was a loving, selfless and proud Husband, Father and Grandfather. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He was a man of few words, who loved all sports, along with gardening, fishing, boating and tinkering with his vehicles. He and Pam enjoyed travelling their 48 years together.
Since retirement, Noel volunteered at The Gardens on Anderton, where he was a dedicated worker, carrying out any and all tasks that was asked of him. The last two Decembers he could be found repairing bicycles at Santa's Workshop in Courtenay.
Noel is survived by his wife, Pamela and sons Patrick (Shawna, Dominic and Liv) and Kevin (Lawrence). He also leaves behind brothers Sean (Monica), Michael (Kate); sisters Marie (Frank), Kitty (Hugh), Lil (Sean); brother-in-law Jon (Cathy); sister-in-law Louise (Brent), nieces and nephews.
We wish to thank Dr. Chin, Dr Murphy, Nurses Brian and Chris at North Island Hospital, who worked tirelessly with care, kindness and compassion for Noel and our family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Gardens on Anderton on May 23, 2020, to honour Noel. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, a donation could be made to causes close to Noel's heart
