October 9, 1943 - January 18, 2025

In loving memory ~

Norma Frances Perret, known as "Frankie" passed away peacefully at the Cumberland Lodge on January 18th at the age of 81. Frankie is survived by her husband of 58 years, Wayne, daughter, Nicole, her two sons, Peter (Miho) and Tim (Tracey) and her five beloved grandchildren, Anika, Kaitlyn, Aidan, Emily and Hana.

Frankie was born on October 9,1943 in Victoria, British Columbia and when she was 12, she moved to North Vancouver. On March 25, 1967, she married her husband, Wayne, and settled in the Comox Valley.

Frankie and Wayne became active members of Co Val Choristers and Courtenay Little Theatre for most of their lives, pursuing her love for singing and acting. She was known for her passion of genealogy and was able to research the roots of her own family tree and in-laws. She found her mother-in-law's four orphaned sisters in the age before computers.

Frankie was a loving, devoted stay-at-home mom of 15 years before working at the Ministry of Social Services for 20 years until she retired. Later in life, Frankie had a love for photography and took countless pictures of wildlife and flowers, especially at the Courtenay Air Park.

Throughout her life, her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends.

Frankie and Wayne had a special group of friends called "the gang", who did everything together, parties, skits, camping, birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings.

Frankie will be remembered for her kind heart, thoughtfulness, her ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she met, and her love of cats. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

We sincerely thank the staff at Cumberland Lodge for their exceptional care, compassion, and love for the past four and a half years.

A Celebration of Life will be held in 2025 (date to be determined).
