Kenny, Norma Marion (Sinclair), at age 93 in Comox, BC. Beloved wife of Robert Avery Kenny (deceased 2009). Dearest Mom of Sheila (Chris), Scott (Linda), Anne, and Mark all of Vancouver Island. Deeply loved by her grandchildren Erin (Ryan), Nicole (Mike), Michelle (Marc), Kerri, Laura (Scott), Cody and Lindsey (and their mother Brenda). Survived by younger sisters Frances and Mary, predeceased by her brothers Douglas and Harold and by her cousins Miriam and Kathy. Fondly remembered by her longtime friend Marjorie Jones and by nieces and nephews, especially her niece Lynda (Eric).
During her time in Port Perry, Ont., Mom was very active, raising her four children and supporting Dad with the family mink ranch. She also really enjoyed the “ladies of the bridge club”, curling, and Anglican Church activities. After she and Dad moved to Vancouver Island in 1988, she devoted a great deal of time and energy to the Woolgatherer’s Spinning and Weaving club, and to the D’Esterre Seniors’ group. She was always interested in exercise and in learning new things. She enjoyed all kinds of travel, from Rock and Mineral Club expeditions with Dad, to world destinations such as Ireland and New Zealand (when she was 89). She proudly attended the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Through it all, her biggest devotion and joy was for her family, all of whom looked up to her, honoured and appreciated her for her calm acceptance, support and unconditional love.
