Norman was born March 14, 1934 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox. A local resident his whole life. When NORM threw a dart at a map of the world to build a home, it landed only 337 feet north of where he was raised. He towed in a trailer, built a house, raised a family, plotted a farm, and took it all by the forkful. He knew the whole valley by name, and the valley knew his, his family’s, and his farm’s. Never one to stray far, NORM passed away on January 23, 2017, surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, in the same hospital he was born, where the same nurse once called him a handsome young buck.  Norman  will remembered by many for his tenacity and his humor and to us as a loving father and mentor : “I inhaled enough smoke and dust building this farm,” he often said, “might as well cremate me and put it all back.” It will be done….also  In Dad’s words “In lieu of flowers, take a family member or friend out for coffee or pint, you will get more out of it”

NORM’s event will be held at Shelter Point Distillery (4650 Regent Rd., Campbell River) on Sunday, February 5 from 1-4pm. Family and friends are invited to gather and share the memories NORM created with them. Mail your moments with NORM to Patricknevans@gmail.com, fax to 1-778-420-2202 or call Patrick at 250-334-7801. Readings will commence at 1:30.
