Orah was born November 23rd, 1929 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC and passed away January 9th, 2004 at Glacier View Lodge. Orah was predeceased by her husband Bill Jacowenik and her parents Reginald and Lila Longland. She is survived by her son Bradley Jacowenik (Linda Haywood); sister June Longland; brothers: Lewis (Carol) Longland, and Jack (Sandy) Longland; nieces, nephews, uncle and aunts. Orah was a kind and generous person who enjoyed music, dancing and knitting. Orah grew up in Comox, and worked at the Comox Post Office and later delivered rural mail. She later moved to Chilliwack, Victoria, and finally settled back in Comox with her son Bradley. A Funeral Service of Orah will be held on Thursday, January 15th, 2004 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Piercy’s Funeral Home, 440 England Avenue, with Pastor Gordon Smedley officiating. Interment to follow at Cumberland Cemetery.
