We are so sorry to announce the passing of Pamelia Gailene Ferris. Pam, as she was known, was born on August 17th, 1946 in Roblin, Manitoba. She is predeceased by her parents Rita Cockerill and Donald Booker and her loving husband Jim Ferris. Pam, a very independent woman, put herself through nursing school at a young age and served in the R.C.A.F. until the birth of her first child. She nursed for many years in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan until her health made it impossible for her to continue. Pam, ever a practical woman, retrained to become a health records administrator and was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox, BC until 2005 when her health forced her to retire.

Pam was a loving wife of 40 years to Jim Ferris and would have followed him to the ends of the earth (or Moose Jaw Saskatchewan) and beyond. She was a woman full of love for those people who deeply mattered to her. There was nothing she wouldn't do for you. She was a positive woman who never lamented the things she couldn't change, and rarely complained even when she had just cause. She loved life deeply and laughed often. Her unconditional love and support will be forever remembered and missed by her two children Krystal Widdifield and Steven Ferris; by her family Garland (Janis) Booker, Kelly (Denise) Booker, Harvey Booker, Lori (Darwin) Dirk, and Lana Lietz; and by everyone who had the good fortune to know her and be counted as her friend. She was an incredible woman with an incredible spirit and she will live on forever in all our memories and thoughts.

A memorial service is being held for her at Comox Valley Funeral Home on Thursday, December 10th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made on her behalf to St. Joseph's Hospital in Comox.
