Oct 18, 1937 - Jan 7, 2018
It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to Pat - a deeply loved wife, mother, sister and friend to so many, many people.

Pat was born on October 18, 1937 in Gilbert Plains Manitoba, and passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Sunday, January 7 at Palm Springs Eisenhower Hospital. She was preceded by her mother Marjorie, father Harry, brothers Basil and Garth, and her husband of 59 years, Ron McPhedrain.

Pat is now home with her Lord and saviour and is rejoicing with her many family members.

She will be deeply missed by her sisters Darlene Aitken and Maureen McLeod, her four children, sons Brent (Dawna), Wade (Deb) and daughters Ronna (Don), Clare (Peter), her 15 grandchildren who adore her and 7 great grandchildren.

Pat will also be greatly missed by her second husband Gabriel Cedillo, who she was delighted to marry on August 12, 2017, and his four girls, their husbands and 13 grandchildren, who so warmly welcomed her as their dear sweet "Mama".

Pat was a devoted and loving mother and wife, living in Dauphin, Winnipeg, Port McNeil, Port Alice, Yellowknife and Comox. When her youngest child started school, she quickly went to work starting a candy wholesale company and built a charming retail candy store she called Candy Corner. Within a few years she had traded counting penny candy to trading stocks and bonds, after joining her husband Ron in establishing the first Financial Advisory services in the Comox Valley.

Pat led with a servant heart - accepting and loving people. She loved cooking, shopping, and she had a quick mind for deals and finances.  Pat welcomed people into her home and heart.  Her joyful heart was infectious and in her winsome social way, she drew people to her, embracing them for who they were and loving them unconditionally.

After retirement, Sky Valley Palm Springs became her second home, developing numerous friendships in both places.

Pat cared for her grandchildren, praying and sowing her seeds of love in their hearts. She believed in grand parenting with intentionality. She will be deeply missed by both her Canadian family and her new Californian family.

Many thanks to Walt East, Sandy Burke and the ICU team at Eisenhower Hospital for their help in the tragic, sudden loss of our precious Pat.

Pat had encouraged her family to pick a word with the first letter of their name to focus on in 2018. Pat's word was PEACE. Our sweet Pat has entered her eternal peace.

Two memorial services will be held: Saturday Jan, 13, 2018 Sky Valley Palm Desert, and Friday Jan. 26, 2018 at 1 PM at Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church on Lake Trail Road in Courtenay BC.

The family requests donations in Pat's memory to be made to one of the following: Foundation for His Ministries (Mexico), Sky Valley Ministries, Central Evangelical Free Church Of Comox Valley or The Salvation Army.
