Peter is finally at peace, after another tragic fall. In 2004, he had a life changing fall which made him a quadriplegic. He was an outgoing person who enjoyed hunting, fishing, travel and telling stories of his adventures. For most of the last 16 years he maintained some of his independence and mobility. He enjoyed life pretty good, going on 4 cruises, weekends to lodges and camping with friends and family. He continued having an active social life mostly with his cinch card game group. His independence and comfort were increasing compromised over the past 2 years. Pete moved into complex care 13 months ago. A great THANK YOU goes out to staff of VIHA HOME CARE, who helped constantly for 14 years, and to Cumberland Lodge and Glacier View Lodge.
Predeceased by parents Jan and Ienske Wydenes, siblings Casey and Fred, and eldest son Jim. Survived by first spouse, Hope and children Harry (Colleen), Vince (Gar) and Susan, second spouse, Patti and stepson Rod, grandchildren Emily, Dylan, Madelyn, Alexandra, Reid and Amber, plus great grandchild from Dylan (Azi), Arian, siblings, Simon (Helen), Marten (Lorraine), John (Sylvia) and Herman, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
We will have a small family gathering to honour Peter, at a later date.
