STEVENSON, Philip Martin
October 24, 1914 – March 16, 2010
Phil died very peacefully with his daughter Maxine Jane at his bed side in the early hours of the morning March 16 at the extended care unit of Eagle View in Comox, BC.
Phil will be sadly missed and always loved by Thelma his wife of 65 years, his son Karl and daughters Marla and Maxine.
He was predeceased by his eldest son Eric. He was a wonderful father and spent a great deal of time with his children; up in the mountains, hiking, 4H club, as a cub master, etc.
Phil has left 3 very sad grandchildren Adrian Nelson (Heidi), Suzanne Mackenzie (Scott) and Heather (Bill). They will always remember the good times they had with their granddad and how he loved them all. Great granddaughters Erica and Samantha Mackenzie could only be here once a year as they live in Nova Scotia. Phil looked forward eagerly to their visits which were never long enough.
Baby Jack has joined us now and will have to be told about his great granddad by his parents Adrian and Heidi.
Daughter in law Jennie and son in law Gordon will also miss Phil very much.
Twilight and evening fell
And after that the dark
And may there be no sadness of farewell when I embark.
All the members of our family would like to thank the staff at Eagle View Extended Care for their wonderful help and kindness toward Phil during his time there.
