Phyl was born on January 21, 1917 and died peacefully at Cumberland Intermediate Care on October 11, 2004. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Chafer Jr., her parents Mary and Sydney Salsbury, and by grandson Craig Nelson.
She is survived by her daughters: Sharon Arleen (Russ) Nelson, Carol Anne (Rick) Baker; grandchildren: Lyle (Chris) Nelson, Dale Nelson, Samantha Burke, Paul (Catherine) Burke, Kimberley Burke, and Elisa Baker; great grandchildren: Taylor and Hailey Nelson, Jessica Burke and John Burke. She will also be lovingly remembered by a sister Violet Irene Middleton and by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 1:00 pm at St. George’s United Church with a reception to follow at the home of Sharon and Russ Nelson with tea provided by the Pythian Sisters of Union Temple #12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Piercy’s - Mt. Washington Funeral Home.
