December 27, 1944 - January 3, 2025

In Loving Memory ~

Randolph Paul Kingan, age 80 of Courtenay, B.C., passed January 3, 2025, peacefully at home from heart failure.

Paul was born December 27, 1944 in Stone Staffordshire, England to mother Nelly Snow, who later met & married father Edward Nathan (Ted) Kingan. Paul was an only child.

Paul's father was an artist and a teacher, who made the decision to immigrate to Canada for a better life for Paul. They settled in North Vancouver when Paul was in his early teens.

Paul met and married Patricia, in high school, who bore him two boys David and Michael. They later parted ways, and he met and married Marguerite, his present wife, April 3, 1980.

Paul spent many years in purchasing and production for Labatt Breweries in New Westminster, B.C. After parting ways due to down-sizing he spent another 10 years purchasing packaging for A&W Food Services in North Vancouver, B.C. Both Paul and Marguerite officially retired May 2004.

Paul and Marguerite loved to travel to their beloved Maui, Hawaii as often as they could during their working years and enjoyed the odd cruise elsewhere when they retired.

As living in New Westminster, B.C. became too hectic they decided to move to Courtenay, B.C. in October 2007 into a new development, just being built, called The Woodlands patio homes living there to present.

Paul was a volunteer at heart, wanting to help and be involved. Paul saw a notice in the local curling rink looking for volunteers for the B.C. Senior Games Society. He was accepted and performed many positions finally leaving the Society after being the President in 2023.

Paul was into fitness, teaching exercise classes at the YMCA in New Westminster and training people to run full and half marathons, having run a marathon himself. Also loved golfing, curling and was an avid supporter of his favorite Manchester United football team.

Survived by spouse Marguerite, son David & grandson Angus, son Michael & spouse Haley & granddaughter Nellie & grandson Oscar, daughter-in-law Maria & grandsons Benji & Luca, stepson Lorne & spouse Susan, stepson Randy & spouse Melody & granddaughter Justine & spouse Jules & great-grandson Maxton, granddaughter Jenny, cousins Richard, Diana & Julie in England.
