Rene passed away on April 16, 2019 at North Island Hospital in Courtenay. He was predeceased by his sister Zialcita Ocampo and parents Marcelino and Anita Jimenez. Rene was an incredible man with a heart of gold. He believed strongly in community and volunteered his time to help others. He touched many people's hearts wherever he went. He had a sparkle in his eye and a ready smile on his lips. He kept himself busy with his love of the ukulele, gardening, baking, cooking and carpentry; he always had lots of projects on the go. Rene was a member of the Evergreen Ukulele Club as well as the Anderton Gardens Therapeutic Society. He was retired but formerly was a Business Analyst for Husky Energy and Project Manager for Intertrans Logistics.

Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Rene's memory made to the charities at the link in his memorial website, http://bit.ly/renejimenez, would be greatly appreciated.
