CROUCH, Robert

Robert (Bob) Arthur Crouch passed away suddenly on February 8, 2015 at Red Deer Regional Hospital. Bob, son of Herbert Robert Charles Crouch and Elizabeth Evelyn Crouch (nee Stevens), was born in Twickenham, England on January 19, 1936. In 1948, he and his family immigrated to Canada and in 1954 he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force. During his career, Bob served as a pilot, flight instructor and staff officer until his retirement in 1987. Bob began his career in Claresholm, AB and was further posted to Marville, France; Moose Jaw, SK; Winnipeg, MB; Southport, MB; Kingston, ON; Lahr, Germany; and Ottawa, ON. His retirement years were filled with sailing, fishing, gardening and travelling, settling in Comox, BC and most recently in Rimbey, AB. Bob is survived by his wife, Ulla Bruhn-Crouch; his sister Evelyn (& Robert) Kyle; his sons Dale (& Donna) and Geoffrey; his grandchildren Robert (& Shelley), Carolyn (& Chris) and James; and great granddaughter Maisie. The family wishes to thank emergency medical and flight staff, nurses and doctors both in Yuma, AZ and at Red Deer Regional Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion. Bob will be remembered by his family as a man of integrity, dignity and conviction. At Bob’s request a private interment will follow at a future date.
