May 27, 1934 - July 27, 2021
Bob passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Creston BC to Arthur and Donna, he grew up in the wilderness of the Kootenays and became a avid outdoorsman with strong sense of family. He joined the CAF in the early 50's and while in Saskatoon, he met a girl who had just immigrated from England. Mary Osborn became his soul mate and love of his life. Married in 1955, they started a family while being stationed in Canada and then Europe. When stationed to the Comox Valley in 1965, they purchased the Seadrift Lodge and he became active in the community with the kinsmen for many years. Retiring from the CAF in 1970, they sold the lodge and started a plumbing business. Then finally retiring again in 2012. Bob enjoyed participating in the BC 55+ Games for 25 years, stopping in 2019. An unbelievably strong swimmer, he earned over 50 medals, making us so very proud on him. Kind, wise and humorous, we grieve his loss and treasure is life.
Predeceased by his son, Ronald in Feb 2021. Survived by his wife Mary, children John and Susan, daughter inlaw Wendy, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A Celebration Of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
