It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father and friend. Robert ‘Bob’ English died on July 5th in Comox, BC at the age of 82. He is survived by Susan, his wife of 45 years, his children Jason (Yvonne) and Tara, and his grandchildren Dylan and Addyson.

Born and raised in Melbourne AU, he travelled extensively before arriving in Toronto. There his career in business credit began with General Motors, continued with Allis Chalmers in Calgary AB & Dallas TX, then JI Case International in Regina SK until his retirement. Since then, he enjoyed pursuing volunteer opportunities, playing duplicate bridge and continued to convene the Liver Lovers’ functions. In 2007, they moved to Comox BC on Vancouver Island where he could look out at the ocean and ‘his’ mountains each morning.

He was a proud “naturalized” Canadian! His life ended through complications from congestive heart failure after he observed his last July 1st. The family is grateful to our friends for their support to us, and to his medical team for his continual care.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 2 pm on Tuesday, July 29th at Comox United Church, 250 Beach Drive. Friends so wishing may make donations to Comox Valley Youth Music Centre, 204, 580 Duncan Ave. Courtenay, BC V9N 2M7.
