ROBERT JOSEPH DERYCKE

February 21, 1950 – January 11, 2009


Robert DeRycke passed away in Cumberland on January 11th, 2009. He was predeceased by his grandparents Bob and Gwen Childs, his sister Yvonne DeRycke and grandson Robert Austin DeRycke. Robert leaves behind to mourn his loss, his Mom and Dad Maureen and Marcel DeRycke, his daughter Nicole (Rob), his son Bob, his grandchildren: Colton, Taryn, Hayden and Kennedy, his sisters Laurie (Dale) and Marcy (Walt), his brother Mike (Alice) and his wonderful nieces and nephews. Robert was born and raised in the Valley. He worked in the logging industry for 20 plus years. He was a hard working man, never stopped, he could do the work of 2 men. Robert was in a bad car accident which stopped his logging career. He still kept busy working on cars and caring for his mother and father. He loved to work and he loved his family. Robert took ill and fought a short but courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side. He is always with us and will never be forgotten. Be with angels Daddy! We love you. A Celebration of his life will be held on Friday, January 16th, 2009 at 1 p.m. from the upstairs at the Cumberland Cultural Centre, 2674 Dunsmuir. If friends so wish, a donation in Robert’s memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
