June 22, 1935 – January 12, 2019
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert Kirk.
Robert is survived by his sweetheart of more than 30 years, Eunice Kirk. His children: Deborah, Katherine and Geoffrey. His step children: Kimberly, Terry, Heather and Suzanne. His grandchildren: Jason, Russell, Hannah, and his great grandson Nolan.
Robert was the owner of Courtenay Car Centre LTD. He started his business in 1955 and was a proud business owner for more than 60 years. Robert was an active business person throughout this time and true to his character he was the last person to lock-up shop on his last day.
Robert was a proud member of the Rotary Club, British Car Club, Full Gospel Businessmen and Forbidden Plateau Recreations.
Robert was passionate about gardening, fishing, skiing and spending his free time working alongside his wife to maintain his home, which he took great pride in.
Robert loved to regale old friends and new with stories of the original Kirk homestead: The Old House, and tales of skiing on Forbidden Plateau. To Robert everyone was a friend he had yet to meet.
Robert was a very kind, loving, generous man, who would help anyone in need.
A memorial service for Robert will be held Saturday January 19, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Comox Valley Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay.
The family graciously declines flowers. In lieu, donations can be made in Robert’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
