November 23, 1943 – September 14, 2016

Rick died peacefully, a blessing because he had a brief but very hard battle with cancer. Rick’s working life began as that of a carpenter, which led to a successful 25 year career teaching carpentry at Camosun College – something he truly enjoyed. The work and the friendship of colleagues and students was a source of pride and pleasure. Predeceased by his parents Rupert and Myrl Glanville of Maple Bay, Rick is survived by his wife Linda; son Matthew, daughter Jennifer (Dan), grandchildren Colleen, Gregory and Madelyn; brother Mike (Maria), nephew Eric (Cecilia); sister-in-law Myrna Chrisp; cousins and many friends. After retirement, Rick and Linda moved from Victoria to Crown Isle in Courtenay, where they enjoyed the golf and made many friends. Their support throughout Rick’s illness has been greatly appreciated. Rick was a kind and gentle man. By request there will be no service and cremation has taken place. If you wish to remember Rick, a gift to your favourite charity would be a nice way.
