Robert (Bob)
Bob passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital on March 14, 2007 with his niece Susan close by. He was predeceased by his parents George and Ellen Hawkins, twin sister Isabel Thompson, younger sister Kathleen Jesse, sister-in-law Sarah Hawkins, and by brothers-in-law Don Goodsell and Doug Thompson.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his brother John Hawkins, sister Mildred Goodsell and brother-in-law Bill Jesse, 16 nieces and nephews: Dianne, Susan, Wendy, John, Marie, Robert, Shirley, Allan, Jim, Gordon, Linda, Pat, Ray, Debbie, Darlene, Scott and all their families. He also leaves to mourn numerous other family members and friends.
Bob and his twin sister were born on Hallowe’en in Comox on October 31, 1921 to one of the original pioneer families of Comox. Bob lived his life to the fullest enjoying each day he had. He loved to garden on the family farm, hunting, fly fishing and fly tying. His working life was spent at Peter’s Sport Shop, where he made many life long friendships. He was also very active with the fish hatchery at the Smith Farm Beaver Meadows. Bob touched many lives in a very special way. He will be lovingly remembered by all.
A Funeral Service will be held at Piercy’s ~ Mt. Washington Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2007 at 11:00 am with Lawrence Burns officiating. Donations to the Pacific Salmon Foundation, 300-1682 West 7th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V6J 4S6 or to the SPCA would be appreciated.
