In Memory of Robert (Bob) Joseph

Guindon

Apr 21, 1951 - Jan 20, 2006

Bob passed away peacefully from cancer in his home in Vancouver, B.C. He was 54 years old. Born in St. Paul, Alberta, he spent his early

years there and in Edmonton. In his early 20’s he moved to Whitehorse, Yukon where he lived for 22 years. Bob married Shirley Hoganson in 1974. He worked for Fred’s Plumbing and Heating, White Pass and Yukon Route Highway Division, Kreitzer Fuel and DC Furnace Service. Bob became self-employed in Building Maintenance and he and Shirley ran “The Entertainer” Dance DJ for many years. In 1986 Bob became a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and later Al-Anon and Al-Anon Adult Children’s Group. He enjoyed many years of fellowship and supporting others until his passing. He served as a Board Member of the Alano Club in Whitehorse and later became Manager. Bob volunteered at fundraising bingos for his church and the Alano Club. In 1992 Bob and Shirley relocated to the Comox Valley. His great talent and love for music kept him young at heart and full of life, playing guitar and keyboards as well as singing and dancing at gatherings throughout his life. After experiencing many challenges and changes together he and Shirley peacefully separated their relationship in 1999. He later completed an Apartment Building Maintenance Course and relocated to Vancouver. He lived for many years “One Day At A Time”, “Letting Go and Letting God”. Bob’s loving, supportive, generous personality and great sense of humor will be missed by many. A Memorial Mass and Prayers will be said for Bob at Christ the King Catholic Parish in Courtenay, B.C. on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 5 P.M. for all those who wish to attend.
