Robert “Bob” Norman
June 20, 1920 – October 26, 2008
Surrounded by his family, Bob passed away peacefully October 26, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox, B.C.
He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Adele, and his sister Ruth. Survived by his loving wife and best friend of 60 years, Lois, daughter Roberta (Jerome), son Mark (Grace), his grandchildren Amanda (Shawn), Michael (Amanda), Devon, Chelsea and Mason, and his great-granddaughter, Kiera.
Born in Berlin, New Hampshire on June 20, 1920. His family moved to Powell River in May of 1926. Bob called the Powell River townsite his home and by the early thirties the golf course had become his second home. This became a life long passion.
He was a 51 year proud member of the Triune Masonic Lodge #81
Bob loved the outdoors and to be near the water.
His greatest enjoyment in life, was to help others and to phone Harold when Boston would beat Montreal!
Robert was a man of great character and a true gentleman!
Thank you to all his friends and neighbors and to all the caregivers who helped keep him comfortable in his final days.
A private family service will be held at a later date, in lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice.
