Robert Thomas (Bob) Woods

WOODS, Robert Thomas (Bob)

Feb. 3, 1930 ~ Sept. 15, 2010

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Bob Woods on September 15th, 2010. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Maizie Woods, daughter Denise (Bob), son Kevin (Donalda) and grandchildren Cole, Alison, Jillian, Bill, great granddaughter Ava, sister Gloria, brother Calvin and large extended family.

Bob’s roots go deep in the soil of the Comox Valley, as grandson of one of the early settling families. Bob carried this pioneering spirit into the logging industry as one of the leaders in selective logging and environmental forest practices. His passion for the logging industry continued into his retirement and was second only to his love for his family and friends. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing, camping and playing cards. For several years Bob has dedicated his time and energy to caring for his wife Maizie. He faced this challenge with the same determination that he showed throughout his life and as expected was an outstanding caregiver.

A gathering of family and close friends will be held on Saturday September 25th at Valley Vista Estate Club House, 4714 Muir Road, Courtenay, B.C. from 1-4pm. Feel free to bring pictures and memories. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation or the Comox Valley SPCA in Bob’s name.
