Bob, age 86, of Comox BC, passed away peacefully at Comox Valley Hospital on April 23rd, 2020
Bob is survived by his wife Kathy (nee Pincombe) of 63 years, daughter June Tiefenbach, and son Bill Taylor (Karen), sisters Thelma Hammerton and Norma Sharp, grandchildren Shannon Franz (Scott), Samuel Taylor, and Lucas Tiefenbach, and many nieces and nephews and extended family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all that knew him. Pre-deceased by his parents Robert and Mabel Taylor.
Bob was born in Ottawa in 1933 and spent his childhood at his parent home on McKay St. At the age of 18, Bob started a distinguished 36-year career as a Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer in Halifax Nova Scotia. He married the love of his life, Kathy in 1957 and together they have two children, June and Bill.
In 1962 they moved to Ottawa Ontario, where they remained until Bob retired at 54. Bob loved the second home they built on their island on Dam Lake, Quebec, where he was able to pursue his passions of wood working, water skiing, and mostly spending time with family and friends. They moved to Comox, British Columbia in 1988 and together started a second 25-year career as ski instructors at Mount Washington on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. He and Kathy loved their home in Comox BC and also loved to travel and saw much of the world together.
At this time arrangements are uncertain due to the global pandemic. Details of a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
A special thank you to the staff at Comox Valley Hospital for making him comfortable in his final days, the staff at Berwick, Comox Valley for their caring support during a difficult time, and especially to Angela Hope for her comfort and the community at Comox Valley Presbyterian Church, where Bob and Kathy were active members.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to Comox Valley Presbyterian Church would be appreciated.
