In Memory of Roberta Ann Bates (nee Easterbrook) ~
Roberta made a decision to choose MAID and passed peacefully with her sister Karen and children Ray (Vicky) Janey and Joely beside her.
Roberta was born Jan 22, 1946 to Joseph and Madeline Easterbrook in Cumberland BC. She is predeceased and will be joining her parents, siblings Fran, John, Meme and son in law James.
Roberta is survived by her sister Karen Hofmann (Boola) sister in laws Gail Wong & Linda Easterbrook and brother in law Dave Hilder, children Raymond Boyd (Vicky) Joely Hofmann (Brandon) and Janey Armstrong.
She left grandchildren Brayden (Michelle) Emily, Kendra (Jon), Jonah (Jessie), Nathan, Rowan, Levi (Kim) Tuesday, and great grandchildren Ben, Ragnar and Regan with many special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Roberta was was born and spent her life in Cumberland. In her younger years she excelled in sports and had a love of basketball. Time well spent with family brought countless hours singing around the kitchen with family and friends, lazy days up the cabin, swimming playing word search puzzles and reading a good book and spending time with her mum playing bingo.
Her happiest times came when her grandchildren were born. Her grandchildren is where she found peace and Love.
She went on trips with them and came over in the evening just so she could give them a bath read them a book and tuck them in. She spent her time singing and teaching them songs, watching movies, Going on nature walks and bringing home flowers and pussy willows for mom.
She taught them to tie their shoes. She taught them how to dance on her feet and told them outlandish stories. As they grew up their friends showered her with attention too which she really enjoyed.
She came to a place in her life where reconciling her pain was too much, so she chose to rest.
She will be missed but not forgotten.
