Peacefully, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, B.C., in his eighty-eighth year.

Born in Gillingham, Kent, England, Ron came to Canada with his parents at an early age. He spent his younger years with his family in Wawanesa, Manitoba and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Ron worked in Northern Manitoba for many years, then in British Columbia, and finally moved to Denman Island, B.C., where he resided until his death.

Ron was predeceased by his parents, Alford C. and Kate (Eaton) Scott, his brother Robert, and sister Joan Henderson, and is survived by one sister, Mary Chapman of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and numerous nieces and nephews.

His family would like to sincerely thank Ron’s many friends and caregivers on Denman Island for their kindness to him over the past years and for helping him remain independent and in his own home until the end.

Cremation has taken place and interment will be in the Scott family plot in Wawanesa, Manitoba, on May 1st at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Margaret Kristoffson presiding. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

A gathering of Ron’s family and friends will be held on Denman Island: Friday, April 25, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Denman Island Senior’s Hall.
