PARR, Ronald Franklin

November 29, 1926 - September 27, 2010


Passed away peacefully in Courtenay, B.C. at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his parents Rev. Maxwell Colborne Parr and Mrs. Ena Parr. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, Yvonne (Bonnee) Parr, his son Cpl. Ronald Norman Parr (retired) of Edmonton, Alberta, his daughter Donna Yvonne Parr of St. Catherines, Ontario, his grandchildren; Marc (Lisa) Lanthier, Kevin (Lori) Lanthier and Aly-Karim Parr, his great grandchildren Justice, Aiden, Silas, Ashton and Carter, his brother Rev. Dr. Jewitt (Marg) of Burlington, Ontario, his sister Eva (Wm) Cook of Nanaimo, B.C. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ron was a graduate of Kempville Agricultural School and worked as a stationary Steam Engineer. He retired after 28 years from the District School Board of Niagara of Ontario.


Ron was a member of Evergreen and Comox Senior Community Centres and in his leisure time he was an avid lawn/carpet bowler both in St. Catherines/Dunville, Ont. and Courtenay/Comox, B.C. He had a sunny disposition with humour and jokes to brighten any occasion. He loved his family, home and country. A Memorial Service will take place at Comox United Church on Friday, October 1st, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined in consideration of donations in Ron’s memory to the Comox United Church or St. Joseph’s Hospital.
