Ronald Keith Morgan

April 30, 1936 - August 3, 2018
We are heartbroken to announce Ronald Keith Morgan of Comox B.C passed away suddenly in hospital on Friday, August 3rd from complications after emergency surgery.

Ron was born April 30, 1936 to William and Myrtle (McWhirter) Morgan in Killarney MB. He grew up in Wakopa, MB surrounded lovingly by his 7 Uncles where the Morgan General Store and Post Office was a fixture of the surrounding farming community for over half a century.

Ron spent 3 years with the Air Force in the early 50's followed by a stint in the oil fields then a lifetime career with telephones. He worked out of Regina (Go Riders!) for 11 years with Sask. Tel. Too many cold prairie winters drew him to Vancouver Island where he was employed with BC Tel for the next 28 years. The first 4 years were spent in Port Hardy. Always a hunter, Ron became an avid fisherman. The family loved that life and activities up there but learned to love the Comox Valley as well when Ron was transferred to Courtenay in 1973.

Ron is lovingly survived by his wife of 58 years Thelma (Enden) Morgan, and their 3 children, daughter Cheryl (Frank) Cyman of Bonners Ferry, ID, sons Les (Christina) Morgan of Rosewell, GA and Jim (Melinda) Morgan of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Heather (Thomas) Bounds, Heidi Morgan, Will Morgan, Frankie Morgan, Harry Morgan and Sarah Morgan and 5 great grandchildren, Ethan McGinnis, Chad McGinnis, Brenna Teertstra, Tayah Teertstra, and Sophia Bounds.

Ron was pre-deceased by his parents William and Myrtle Morgan, two grandsons, Jerry McGinnis (28) Ryan Morgan (9) and daughter in law Melinda (Missy) Morgan.

A family graveside service was held in Victoria, BC at the Royal Oak Cemetery on Saturday, August 11th, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
