Morton, Ronald Keith
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Ronald Keith Morton, on September 4, 2006. Ron was a quiet and courageous man who managed his illness over the last year with dignity and his trademark humor. A native son and longtime businessman in New Westminster (Royal City Glass), he was well-liked and respected by all who knew him. Ron was a great family man and enjoyed nothing more than the company of family and friends; surrounded by his magnificent garden created by he and Shirley.
He was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life and best friend, Shirley in 1999. Ron was also predeceased by his two brothers and former business partners Ken and Bill and three granddaughters: Tammie, Sabrina and Kelly.
He is survived by one sister, Gladys (Frank); sons: Jim (Gloria) and Bob (Deb); and daughter Cathy (Rick); six grandchildren: Suzie, Luke, Neil, Cam, Sarah, and Keith; and 2 great-grandchildren: Emily and Alex.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lai for his wonderful care over the years and most recently the Home Care Community Health Nurses of the Comox Valley. Also, many thanks to the Comox Valley Hospice Society. Special thanks to my dear friend Leah. Cremation – No service by request. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any donations in Ron’s name to either the Canadian Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association or to the Kelly Duffy Memorial Education Scholarship Fund at Semiahmoo Secondary in Surrey, BC
A heart of ‘gold’ stopped beating.
