Ron passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Ron loved his Lord and saviour Jesus.
Ron was born on Feb 19, 1937 at Giroux, Manitoba and passed away on Sunday Nov 6th at St. Joseph Hospital preceded by his Mother, Elizabeth and his Father, Harvey.
Ron is now home with his Lord and saviour and is rejoicing with his mother and father and many family members. Ron will be greatly missed by his wife Pat, sons Brent (Dawna), Wade (Deb) and daughters Ronna (Don), Clare (Peter) and 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Ron taught school for 20 years in Winnipeg, Port McNeil, Port Alice, YellowKnife and Courtenay, before changing careers in the early 80’s to become Comox Valley’s first Financial Advisor.
Ron loved fishing and spent many enjoyable days on his sailboat. During winter months he enjoyed his days skiing and patiently teaching his children and grandchildren how to ski. After retirement, Sky Valley Palm Springs became his second home - leaving many friends from his church families in both places.
Ron always said he was so blessed to be married to his beautiful and devoted wife Pat. He will be missed deeply by his family and many friends.
Many thanks to Ron’s family doctor, Dr Kevin Swanson and the nursing staff at St. Joseph’s over the recent 7 weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Ron’s memory be made to the Central Evangelical Church (building fund) or the Gideons International
A memorial service will be held for Ron on Monday November 21st at 2pm at the Courtenay Fellowship Baptist Church on Lake Trail Road.
