April 27, 1934 - August 4, 2019
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marie Duval who died peacefully at her home in Comox on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at age 85. Born in Summerside, Prince Edward Island (and very proud of that fact!) on April 27, 1934, she married Ron Duval, a serviceman in the Royal Canadian Air Force, on September 3, 1960. Sadly for all who knew and loved him, Ron passed away on July 3, 2009. During those 49 years together, they shared a wonderful and full life, raising a daughter and three sons at several air force bases, including 4 Wing at Baden Solingen, Germany; Trenton, Ontario; Greenwood, Nova Scotia; Ottawa, Ontario; and finally, Comox, BC in the early eighties where they remained for the rest of their lives.
Marie was beloved by all who knew her; her favourite expression and heard frequently by her relatives and dear friends was a simple but heartfelt "I love you". Above all, she was a very kind-hearted, generous woman who spent countless hours at various churches, providing food to those less fortunate in life.
Marie is survived by her daughter Toni (David); sons David (Terry), Gordon (Jinjee), and Ron (Donna); grandchildren (Derek, Erin, Colleen, Grant, Kim, Yarrow, Kurtis, Travis, Darryl and Jessica; great-grandchildren (Nathan, Hunter, Alesha, Mackenzie, Linden, Loxley, Sutton, Hadley, Jayden and Kingsley; her sister Lilly (Irving) and brother Reggie (Laury Ann); brother-in-law David (Annette); many nieces and nephews; and countless dear friends, especially her very long-time closest friends, Ruth, Gene, and Shirley.
