In Loving Memory ~
Ross was born in Regina Saskatchewan from Eugene Vandament and Louise Aitken. Ross grew up in Saskatoon where he graduated. After graduation he joined the Navy and studied to become a telecommunications officer. He left Saskatoon with his wife Heather Vandament for his first posting to Bermuda. His next posting was to Gander NFLD, his last posting was too Alert and Masset. He then retired from the Navy and moved to Victoria with his family where he lived for few years. Ross's next job was a dispatcher for the RCMP where he was posted to Cranbrook, BC. Leaving there in the early 80's, where he was posted to the Comox Valley where he retired from the RCMP in the early 90's, and spent the rest of his years in the valley.
Ross was active with the Royal Canadian Army cadets teaching map and compass. He was also involved in men's fastball and then Comox Valley slow pitch league, where he was involved in running teams and special events. During this time he met his second wife Cherilyn Zinck-Vandament.
Ross is predeceased by Eugene Vandament, Louise and Norm Aitken, Heather Vandament, Cherilyn Zinck-Vandament. He has left his loving family; daughter Kim Vandament (Andre), son Scott Vandament (Leah), daughter Kyla Vandament, brother Grieg Erikson, Murray Aitken (Heather), sister Karen Racine (Glen), also confidant and best friend Wilma Douglas. Grandchildren; Ashley, Deavon, William, Thomas and Janner. Great grand children; Dante, Gabe, Alex, Scarlet. Plus lots of half brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends.
His Celebration of Life will be at Comox Legion on October 8th, 2022 from 1pm to 4pm.
