Edwards, Ruby Lee
1924 - 2003
Of Courtenay, formerly of Amber Valley (Athabasca), Alberta, passed away peacefully in Glacier View Lodge on Thursday, February 20, 2003 aged 79. Ruby was predeceased by her parents: John and Mary Bransford and by her brothers: Wilbert, Wesley, and Carl Bransford.
She is survived by her loving husband Booker (married 48 years) and by her daughter Sharon Edwards and granddaughter Tomekia. She also leaves her foster children: David, John, and Barbara and their families as well as her six sisters and their families.
Ruby taught school all her life in Amber Valley, Grassland and Athabasca, Alberta, and then with Booker retired to the Comox Valley in 1984. She enjoyed people and selling at home parties and prayer meetings and bible studies. Special appreciation to Dr. R. Ptak and to Glacier View Lodge for their care and to all the Home Support Care people.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 26th at 1:00 P.M. from the CHAPEL of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 Ryan Road. Interment at Courtenay Civic Cemetery with refreshments and gathering with Rubys family in the “Garden Room” of the funeral home following the service.
