A Celebration of Life was held for this remarkable lady February 24 at Ladner United Church.

One of six children, Ruby's long life began in Souris Manitoba, took her to Regina Saskatchewan where she met her husband Jack Nixon, to Calgary, Winnipeg, Prince George, the Comox Valley and finally to Ladner B.C.

She was predeceased by her husband Jack (1963). Ruby suffered many losses during her life but still maintained an attitude of gratitude and zest for life.

She will be sadly missed by her sons Barry (Teresita), Calvin (Valetta) four grandchildren Francis Nixon, Anthony Nixon, Cameron Nixon, Christine Bobye Nixon and her four great-grandchildren Laurel Nixon, Alyssa, Amy and Emily Bobye.

During her life she was a faithful member of the United Church of Canada, engaged in political activities and kept active with swimming, lawnbowling, playing bridge and attending plays and concerts in Vancouver.

Her last three years were spent at Delta View Life Enrichment Centre in Ladner where she endeared herself to the staff with her sense of humour and feisty nature.

Many thanks to Rev. Jim Short (Ladner United), her caregivers at Delta View and the many friends of our family who have expressed their sympathy.

She left us peacefully after 108 years.
