Runar Hagg of Campbell River, BC passed away on April 26, 2018 at the age of 84 years. He will be sadly missed by family and friends who loved him dearly.

A native of Vancouver Island, Runar was born in Comox, BC to parents Nestor and Ingrid Hagg. With his four siblings Charley, Alice, Roy and Ruth he started his life on the farm in Dove Creek. He spent his school years attending Tsolum School. During those years he made some life long friends and met the love of his life, Lynne Field.

Runar's work career started off with Comox Logging, then evolved to becoming a young road foreman for Kokish B.C. (Crown Zellerbach). Many great memories were made in Kokish with family and friends.

Runar's career also took him to Kitimat, BC (Eurocan Logging) and to Gold River, BC (Tahsis Co.) as a road foreman. The final 18 years of his work were spent at S&R Sawills in Port Kells, BC. He truly enjoyed working there until he retired.

Retirement life took Runar back to the Island to be closer to family. He loved the home they bought and had lots of time relaxing or thinking about fishing or watching his grandkids play hockey.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lynne, sons Douglas, Michael (Annette), grandchildren Karl (Carli), Natalie (Nolan), sisters Alice (Dick), Ruth (Jim), brothers Charley (Peg), Roy (Anna), brother-in-law Bruce Field (Bev).

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Dr. Walker and the amazing nursing staff at C.R. Hospital. I was amazed with the compassion they showed my dad Runar. Thanks so much fore being there for us in a difficult time. Our family will never forget your kindness.

Michael, Lynne and Douglas Hagg
