December 16, 1960 - December 29, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Sandra Lynn Girard, "Sandi", announce her sudden passing on December 29, 2021 in Bucerias, Mexico. Sandi was a long time resident of the Comox Valley.
Sandi will be remembered by her loving husband of 32 years, over 34 years together, Marc Girard, her son, Brandon Short, granddaughter Mylah Short, her parents, Alexander and Evelyn Ingram, siblings; Douglas Ingram (Bonnie), Susan Klatt (Darren), Lynda McLean and Karen Bozic (Dan), nephews Michael Ingram, Robert Ingram and Luka Bozic, and soul sister Kimmie Smith.
Sandi was born in Trenton, Ontario on December 16, 1960 to Alex and Evelyn Ingram. She graduated from G.P. Vanier Senior Secondary in 1978 and moved on to spend 25 years in the banking industry with Scotiabank and CIBC. With her creative mind, she opened Pearl Cove Salon, where she welcomed her friends and many new clients for the past 10 years.
Along life's way, Sandi met and married her husband Marc in May of 1989. Together they enjoyed spending their time together in the summer creating a beautiful backyard oasis, where they enjoyed a nice glass of her favorite red wine while sharing stories with their family and many friends. Sandi loved long walks with their dogs, Lily and Diesel and was an avid mountain biker who loved their annual biking trips to Whistler every summer.
In the winters Sandi loved travel to tropical destinations and particularly Loved Mexico, she was well known in Bucerius and made many friends there.
In March of 2011, she was blessed with her only grandchild, Mylah. Mylah was the sparkle in her eye and Sandi's, "mini me". "GG" loved and cherished her special time with Mylah and spent countless hours baking, crafting and swimming in their backyard pool. Sandi had began to teach Mylah her mt. biking skills.
Sandi inspired strong and enduring friendships among the many people she met. Her strength of character, love of life and spirit allowed her to live her life to the fullest. There wasn't anything that she couldn't accomplish. Sandi's unforgettable smile and passion for helping people is what made her so memorable. You knew you were close to Sandi if she called you "Lovey" .
She will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. We would like to thank family and friends for their compassion and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in honour of Sandi to the charity of your choice.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in late spring when Sandi's friends and family can gather and celebrate.
