It is with broken hearts that we have to announce that Scott lost his life on August 27th in a tragic car accident in a rural area of Australia in the township of Kerang at the age of 21.

Scott was born on October 18th 1995 in Prince Albert Saskatchewan and moved with his family to Comox BC at the age of 9. Scott enjoyed his early years exploring the Comox Valley, playing hockey and ball, attending school and graduating from Highland High in 2013. After graduation, Scott worked for short periods of time in the Comox Valley, saving every penny earned to adventure o exploring and working across the world and impacting people along the way.

His journeys took him to Mexico, Central America, Southeast Asia and remote areas of the Philippines. Scott left a legacy of friends along the way as he connected with his co workers, the local people and other travelers in a way that now almost seems unreal. Scott had more experiences and impacted more lives in his short time here on earth than most people would ever dream of. He was always helping others to be happy, safe and prosperous.

He was instrumental in the evacuation of several locals out of the Siargao Island area of the Philippines during the super typhoon of 2014 and then returned back to the island in 2015 bringing along with him several surf boards for the local boys that they could use to earn a living. Scott spent the last year and a half working various jobs across Australia from vineyards in Margaret River, construction, tree planting and harvesting in the outback area North of Perth and most recently, grain and sheep farming near Melbourne. Scott passed away alongside his best friend Jesse Munroe who he had met playing hockey on Vancouver Island. The two of them were inseparable growing up and had traveled, lived and worked together over the past several years. Scott had the kindest heart, the funniest personality, the friendliest demeanor and a work ethic that was sure to make him succeed in anything he set his mind to.

He had a sprinkle of crazy that mixed perfectly with his amazing soul. He was the best grandson, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend many of us will ever know. Scott's life was taken way too soon for any of us to understand but we rest assured knowing that his short time here was lived to the fullest and that in his own words, had already satis ed his every dream already. We trust that God needed Scott back and that in his passing he will continue to impact us to make this world a better place. We are sure heaven changed the day Scott showed up and are sure he is catching up with all the family he didn't get to know before and making a ton of angels laugh and smile.

We look forward to seeing him again one day. Scott is survived by his parents, Mark and Shannon, his sisters Becky (Blaine Connolly) and Carli Grandparents Bob and Iris Goebel and Harry and Iris Kiryk, Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Memories of Scott can be shared and viewed on the Remembering Scott Goebel Facebook page. Please share as many pictures, stories and thoughts about Scott that you have as a gift to all of us that will miss him tremendously.
