Born August 5, 1921 – Died August 7, 2016

Scott left this world suddenly and unexpectedly on August 7 with his granddaughter Kenzie by his side.

Scott was pre-deceased by his parents Dean and Flavia, nine siblings (Tom, Cecil, Ben, Howard, Alvin, Donald, Dorothy, Marjorie and Norman), and the love of his life Lucille née Rainville in June 1989.

Left to mourn are children Cathy (Kenzie, Keisha), Rick wife Donna (Michelle, Warren), Mark (Nigel), David, and Paul partner Tammy (Sebastian) and great-grandchildren Chloe, Noah, Maia and Evan.

Scott lived a long and full life. He started work in the logging industry in his early teens, when horses were used rather than heavy machinery. Logging would be his life-long job, and it took him from the Queen Charlottes (Haida Gwaii) to Vancouver Island. Sons Rick and Mark followed him into the profession, and they worked together at Gold River Logging. Scott retired from that operation in September of 1986.

Many will remember Scott from his daily walks at the Airpark with his Brittany Spaniels Misty and Snoopy. The dogs were his companions in hunting (an activity he enjoyed with sons Rick and David and many other friends) and in life. Their passing was a very sad time, and after nearly thirty years of retirement he would often say he was tired of being retired. The multiple health issues that come from very old age certainly got him down the last six months of his life.

He will be dearly missed.
