MURRAY

Sharon Ann

1947 - 2009

Sharon passed away peacefully at home in the company of her loving and devoted family after her long valiant struggle with COPD. She is survived by her husband Ian, her daughter Shelley of Courtenay, BC, her son Rob of Nanaimo, BC, and her grandchildren Garrett and Jenna who were the light of her life.

Although predeceased by her parents and brother Donnie, she is also survived by her sisters Joan and Dorothy of Nova Scotia and her brother Jim Fleming also of Stellarton Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was born in Halifax, raised in Stellarton. She completed her registered nursing diploma at The Victoria General Hospital in Halifax Nova Scotia, and after marrying Ian in 1968, devoted 25 years to her nursing career across Canada.

Sharon was an accomplished cook and craft maker. She was well known for her “Apple Pies”. She enjoyed good jokes and had a great sense of humor. Her infectious laugh could be heard throughout all gatherings.

Ian and the family would like to thank all the home support workers and RN’s who gave so cheerfully and assisted during the last two years. Thanks to all our friends and neighbors for being so supportive throughout this long and trying period of our lives. Sharon will be sorely missed by all.

A celebration of life for Sharon Murray will be held at Piercy’s – Mt. Washington Funeral Home, 440 England Ave. Courtenay on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 1:00pm.
