SHIRLEY LOUISE WHITE July 8th, 1951 – February 26th, 2008 After a long courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley White, beloved wife, cherished mother and grandmother, loving sister and dearest friend. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 31 years, Ralph, by her daughters Lisa Revoy (David) and Rosa Davis (Bob), by her grandchildren Steven, Sheldon, Nicholas, Rebecca, Brandon, and Matthew, sister Sharon Cassetta (Tony), as well as by her stepdaughters, Shelley Belleznay and, Kim Getz and 11 step-grandchildren. Shirley is predeceased by her father John her mother Gwen and her stepson Marc. Her family was large but her heart was generous and there was room for all of them.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful home support nursing team, the 3rd floor staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital and throughout by the unfailingly kindness of Dr. Doug Anderson.
Shirley will be remembered as a dedicated and gifted homemaker, for her lively curiosity and for the breadth of her passions from painting to traveling to fishing to genealogy, to sewing, to gardening to stamp collecting and to the love of her dog Sadie.
We will remember her together on March 8th at 1:00 p.m. at Comox Valley Funeral Home, 1101 Ryan Road in Courtenay. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Palliative Care Ward at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Ralph and Shirley had a beautiful life together and may she rest in peace.
