HOPP, Sidney Leonard
A resident of the Comox Valley, Mr Sidney Hopp passed away at the Comox Valley Senior Village where he and his wife Madelene Hopp resided, at the age of 81.
Sid as he was known to friends and family was born on April 27, 1929 in Edgewood, BC in a hotel that was serving as a hospital. He was the youngest of five children born to Cora and Henry Hopp. In Enderby he met his future wife, Maddie. They were married in Enderby in 1949 and had two sons, Garry and Irwin.
In 1960 Sid joined the brotherhood of the Masonic Temple and he was active in the anonymous charity work this organization performs in the community. He was proud of achieving his fifty year pin in 2010.
Sid is predeceased by his parents, his brother Burt, and his sisters Dorothy and Mona. He is survived by his wife, Maddie, his sister Emily, his two sons, Garry and Irwin and their wives Grace and Bernice, four grandchildren, April, Kory, Christopher, and Amber and five and a half great grandchildren.
