Steve was born in Vancouver, on July 31, 1953.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 30 years, Isobel McDonald, who passed away on April 11, 2022. As well as his parents, William "Bill Vegh and Marie Devlin.
Steve is survived by his sisters Wendy-Lynn (John), Lana (Tim), Wendy Lee (Darren) and brother Tony as well as nieces and nephews Alexa, Haylie, Tayler, Ashley, Jesse, Amanda and Samantha and step-mother Olga.
Steve was a logger and a seaman and travelled BC's coast extensively during his long career. He spent many happy years in the Charlottes before moving back to the lower mainland and then, finally, to the Comox Valley. He was an excellent cook, gardener, mechanic and craftsman and took pride in his superb carpentry skills.
He was a life-long motorcycle enthusiast and loved old vehicle restoration. Steve loved the wild west coast and all creatures great and small. He leaves behind many friends in the Comox Valley, Haida Gwaii and across BC.
A Celebration of the lives of Steve Vegh and Isobel McDonald will be held onMonday, September 12, 2022 from 1 to 3 pm at the Comox Valley Funeral Home at 1101 Ryan Rd, Courtenay, BC. No flowers please, but feel free to make a donation to an animal rescue charity of your choice instead.
