Sydney Alfred Slade, a longtime resident of the Comox Valley passed away February 2nd, 2002 at the age of 102 years. Predeceased by his wife Nellie in 1994, son Roland Gordon in 1953 and grandson Stephen in 1963. Sydney is survived by his son Sydney, daughter Phyllis Gardner and specially selected daughter Gertrude Frelone and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Sydney Slade will be held Friday, February 8th, 2002 at 1:00 pm from the CHAPEL of PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME, 440 England Ave. with Pastor Ross Fox officiating. Following the service interment will be held at Courtenay Civic Cemetery and a reception at Piercy’s Glacier Tea Room. PIERCY’S FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORIUM in care of arrangements.
