April 7, 1931 - July 10, 2021
We are saddened to announce that Theresia Frisch passed away at home on July 10th surrounded by her family. She is predeceased by her husband Wolfgang of 63 years. Mother to Johanna Frisch and Christine Monier (Herve), Oma to Mariam, Michael, Agathe, Malachi, and Timothee.
Born in Oberlauda, Germany she came to Toronto in 1956 where she married the love of her life and started her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and wonderful Oma who always had encouraging words for each of us. Wanting to be closer to family and her grandchildren, she moved from Bolton, to Calgary and then to the Comox Valley, ful lling a lifelong dream to move west.
Hospitality was one of her many gifts and she connected easily and deeply with people from all walks of life. Helping others and sharing her wisdom came natural to her. She was an avid gardener-daisies were her favourite -a wonderful cook, baker and a profoundly spiritual woman whose Faith coloured everything she did. She sang in many choirs, was a member of St Vincent de Paul and the Catholic Women's League.
She was highly intuitive, had a positive outlook on life, and her smile warmed the hearts of many.
In her words:
" What a journey it has been....one doesn't know what is going to happen next in life but every step of the way, God and Jesus have always been there guiding and holding me. For this gift of Faith, I feel blessed and grateful."
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who accompanied her with their thoughts and prayers over the past year; in particular, Fr. David Hogman, Dr. Trevor Shoesmith, and the Home Care support team.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on July 19th at Christ the King, Catholic Church.
