Barnacle, Thomas Henry

September 6, 1913 to December 2, 2005

Thomas Henry Barnacle, 92, passed away peacefully in Williams Lake on December 2nd 2005. Tom was predeceased by his wife Doris Mary Barnacle on March 29, 2005. They are survived by sons Trevor (Gerry) of Williams Lake and Peter (Claire) Regina Sask., five grandchildren: Ed, Jane (Tom), Andy, Shawn (Claire) and Tricia (Darren) and great grandson Owen. In 1952 Tom and Mary with their two young sons immigrated from England to Canada. Tom worked for many years for Okanagan Helicopters as an engineer and finally base manager before retiring in 1978 to the beautiful Courtenay Comox Valley, a place he and Mary loved so much and where they enjoyed all that island life had to offer. Because of declining health, Tom and Mary moved to Williams Lake in July of 2004 to be closer to family. Tom was a kind and gentle man, who was a voracious reader with a keen interest in world events and sports, particularly Canadian Football. He will be greatly missed. Thanks to the many caregivers in Courtenay and Williams Lake who cared for Tom and Mary. In the spring family members will return to Courtenay to bring Tom and Mary to their final resting place.
