Aug. 5, 1927 – May 31, 2016

The family of Vaclav Triska is sad to announce his passing on May 31, 2016 in Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.

Vaclav was predeceased by his parents Marie Hola and Jan Triska, his two brothers Joseph and Jaroslav Triska. He leaves behind by his wife Hana Triska; son George (Judy) Triska of Nanaimo, BC; daughter Joyce (Grant) Furlane of Oakville, Ontario; grandchildren Michelle Triska, Julie Triska, Kristen Furlane and Jordan Furlane and great grandchildren Mylah and Brandon.

Vaclav came to Canada in 1968 from the Czech Republic. He was always the life of the party, comical and entertaining. It was no surprise that his working career was as a singing waiter at the Westin Bayshore Inn and also bartended at Francesco Alongi Hospitality. He enjoyed making new friends and easily did so. He loved everyone to be around him and his humour touched us all. He was a shining star and made an impact on everyone he met. He also belonged to the Evergreen Seniors Choir. In his leisure time, Vaclav enjoyed tennis, singing, swimming, biking, dancing and had a great love for animals. He acted and participated in many plays and movies. He enjoyed opera music, especially singing his favourite song Santa Lucia.

A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of Vaclav’s life was held on Saturday, June 4th, 2016 from Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre in Courtenay.

Please kindly consider a donation in Vaclav’s name to the Nanaimo Hospital Palliative Care, 1200 Dufferin Cres., Nanaimo, B.C., V9S 2B7.
