Jun 16, 1942 - Mar 12, 2018
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Val Taylor, age 75, at the North Island Hospital in Courtenay, BC on 12 March 2018.

Val was predeceased by her parents Walter and Emily Taylor and her infant brother Craig. She will be missed by her Aunt Helen Taylor, her Taylor cousins and many dear friends.

Val was born in Toronto, Ontario and lived most of her adult life in Vancouver where she worked as an Executive Assistant. She moved to Courtenay in 2008 to start a new chapter. She enjoyed living in a smaller community, reconnecting with family, and making new friends.

Val was a strong willed and independent woman, with a big smile and a big heart. She was very kind and thoughtful and was always happy to help a friend when needed.

It is impossible to think of Val without also thinking of her best friend, companion and confidante of 17 years, her dog Tara. She had a deep love for Tara and it brings some comfort to think of them now reunited again.

Val's family would like to sincerely thank her special friends, in particular those who lived in her building, who helped her immensely during times when she was unwell. Your thoughtfulness and care will not be forgotten.

Cremation has taken place and there will not be a funeral service, as per Val's wishes. Info regarding a Celebration of Life to be provided at a later date. Condolences may be sent through Toneff Funeral Services in Courtenay at www.tonefffuneral.com.

If desired, donations in Val's name could be made to one of her favourite charities such as the CV Transition Society, SPCA or CV Healthcare Foundation.
