He leaves behind to mourn his passing, daughters Shawna Johnston and Carol Johnston; grandchildren, Jessica Delaat, Darian Johnston and Bryan Koroll; sisters Nancy (Hanns) Luck and Diane White, many nieces and nephews including; Cindy Cooke and Wendy Stolkes, many other family and friends not mentioned, as well as; Mylie and Nicole Barron, Dee Sugden, many good friends in the Comox Valley and Vancouver Island, Timothy O’Brien, Dean Codotte, Steve Fogg, Kim Wakelin-Brake, Kimberly LaCroix, Vince Andre, also his close friend Joan Gagne. Vern enjoyed anything to do with woodworking. He was a logger always and forever and also a jack-of-all trades. He was friends to everyone, a voice of reason, a great listener and a comfort to us all. He was your best back-up in a fight, and did someone say, “Beer Can Chicken?”.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
A special thanks to the ICU, Emerge and 3rd Floor Nurses desk C, as well as to Dr. Thomas for your wonderful care and attention.
